A birthday thought about business, clarity, and support

Hi, Reader!

I turn 40 today! Last weekend, my husband threw me the most epic 90s-themed rollerskating party - we rented out the whole rink and had the best time! I also came down with laryngitis, so that's fun.

But one thing I don't have is that existential crisis that many get when hitting a big milestone. If anything, I feel more clear than I ever have. And clarity is something I don’t take lightly, because it’s also the thing most business owners are missing when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, or quietly exhausted.

After years of running a service-based business (and living in a body that has forced me to slow down whether I wanted to or not), here’s what I know for sure:

Most business stress isn’t about effort. It’s about structure.

When your business lives mostly in your head, everything feels fragile. Decisions feel heavy. One client leaving feels catastrophic. Taking time off feels impossible. You’re constantly reacting instead of choosing.

That’s why even though I run a virtual assistance micro agency, strategy has become the foundation of everything I do.

Not “five-year plan” strategy.
Not hustle strategy.
Real, practical clarity that helps you decide:

  • what you’re actually building
  • what deserves your energy
  • what needs support
  • and what no longer fits

As I head into this next decade, I’ve gotten very intentional about how I support clients, too. So I want to be clear about the ways we work together, in case one of them is the right fit for you right now.

  1. Strategy Sessions are for when you want to zoom out.
We look at your business as a whole, identify what’s working, what’s creating friction, and build a clear plan forward.
  2. Business Sanity Sessions are for when you feel overwhelmed right now.
One problem, one stuck point, one messy area. We triage it so you can breathe again and move forward.
  3. Done-For-You systems are for when you know clarity isn’t enough and you need implementation.
We design and build the backend systems your business needs (websites, funnels, workflows, automations, CRMs, email systems) so things actually work without relying on memory. Then we either train you on how to manage it, or we can run it for you (see #4 below).
  4. VA support is for ongoing execution and support.
This is where the day-to-day gets handled: inboxes, scheduling, client care, content support, organization, and the behind-the-scenes work that keeps your business running.

Everything we offer is built around the same belief: your business should support your life, not drain it.

If your work has felt heavier than it should, consider this your permission slip to stop holding everything in your head and get some outside eyes on it.

And since it’s my birthday week, I’ll leave you with this: clarity compounds. The earlier you invest in it, the lighter everything else becomes.

If you’re ready, you know where to find me.

xo,
Liz

Hi, Reader!A few years ago I had a client come to me who had been in business for three years. She had a lead magnet. She had a landing page. She even had a welcome sequence set up, or so she thought. When we got into the back end of her email platform together, we found opt-in forms pointing to the wrong list. A welcome sequence that had never actually triggered. And subscribers sitting in limbo who had never received a single email after downloading her freebie. Three years of collecting...

Hi, Reader!A few weeks ago, I fell into a TikTok rabbit hole. Someone casually mentioned an “adulting” spreadsheet and suddenly I was questioning my entire life. This woman had a list of things I had either never thought about or very much avoided. For example, did you know front-load washers have a drain tube you’re supposed to empty monthly? Because I did not. She also had basics like testing smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, checking appliance ages, and understanding when big home...

Hi, Reader! We’re always so hard on ourselves in January, and a long time ago I decided it should just be a free-trial month. There’s way too much pressure to change by the first day of the month, or the first workday of the month. Even though I had all my holiday decor down and my new year intentions planned by the second, my birthday was the 22nd, we had guests from out of town, and I was recovering from laryngitis. It’s always something! Before we move on from January, I think we need to...
